Hello! I own a 1972 CJ-5 as it was my husband toy. Unfortunately he passed away suddenly and i have no use for it now being by myself with two small kids. I would like to find someone that would like to buy itand enjoy the ride like he did. I leave in Elgin IL and i am asking $9,800.00. Thank you

Lots of mods, but they were already in place. MY mods are REPAIRS!
I'm sorry for your loss. That is one beautiful Jeep, and if you ask me (which nobody does) that price tag is a tad on the light side. By about half? Please don't sell yourself short unless your needs are immediate. Show quality workmanship should be priced accordingly, but again--just my .02.

I understand and appreciate your advice. Unfortunately i don't know anything about this car and also I don't have the time or money to invest and make more out of it. I am hoping someone would just buy it ASAP. Thank you again

    Hello Pricilla,

I'm so sorry for your loss. I see you had it on Facebook at $14k and are down to 10K. I'm reaching out to some folks I know to see if anyone is in the market. I assume you wouldn't object to having a company inspect the Jeep before purchase. The people I know would be from Western PA so they'd probably want to get an inspection report before an 8 hour drive to look at it. This is the company I've used in the past. https://automobileinspections.com/

    Good Luck!!!

My condolences. The FIRST thing you should do is find someone familiar with it or knowledgeable with old Jeeps to determine what was done. Axles, engine, transmission, transfercase, suspension, steering, and brakes. I suspect there isn't much left of the stock components. If you can, locate any receipts late husband had for any parts or work done.

Just going off the photos, I have to agree your asking price should likely be at least double what you proposed. You should join 3 other related Jeep forums and post classified adds there. All of these no doubt have a much larger following for that era Jeep than here.

Another option would be to get it listed on Bring a Trailer (BAT). https://bringatrailer.com/

    Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to suggest that this is a very difficult time for the OP and in normal circumstances these are all very good suggestions but, unfortunately these are not normal circumstances. I think the best we can do is circulate the facebook link and the information provided by the OP on this site to friends and other Jeep enthusiast to try to help her out.

Here is the facebook link I've forwarded around. Hello Pricilla,

I hope you have a friend, co-worker, or relative that can do some of this leg work for you in this trying time.

    Thanks,
    Rick
