Heating up

2012 JK Sport No Mods.
While driving it heats up to 3/4 the the fan kicks in and it goes down. It happens when i start slowing down. While in the freeway its at the 1/2 mark. As soon as i start slowing down it heats up. What can it be? I already change the thermostat and it does the same thing.

 

No great wisdom here but my first thought was a failing water pump. FWIW....

 

Has it ever seen mud, maybe the radiator core is full of mud/dirt. Try flushing through the fins

 

Vry little offroad, nothing that bad. I was thinking on the water pump too but dnt want to change something else till i asked. Cuz ilI already change the thermostat and it dnt work.

For the most part...your symptoms would seem to indicate the following possibilities: 1. Possible water pump pressure issue. = failing pump. 2. Thermostat issue (likely already eliminated) 3. Electric fan issue (not likely) 4. Fan control issue (it is a 3 speed fan controlled by temp) 5. The gauge is not functioning properly (it has happened - see attached pdf)

Have you had the DTC codes read to see if there is an issue being recorded by the system? Your local parts house will likely do this for free.

Sorry we can not do more for you yet. I have searched a good number of Jeep forums and do not find your exact issue. However, my list above is based upon various heat-related issues from my research and experience.

C2T fan works fine, actually when it starts heating up the fan cools it down. I havent had time to mess with it do to work. Hopefully this weekend i get it fix. I'm ganna replace the water pump and go from there. About the codes, it does not show any codes.
