Looking at an 05 grand Cherokee 5.7 awd hemi, at the front drive shaft where it bolts to the transfer case, the cv bearings are shot and at speed it makes a grinding sound. The jeep is about an hour away from my house. Is it possible for me to unbolt the front axle to just be able to drive it home so i can install a new one without destroying anything in the process? Thanks

Welcome to the site! If it was a part time 4 wheel drive, I think you can do that, but not if it's full time AWD.

Welcome! Flat bed towing would probably be the best solution for safe transport without causing any additional issues. If that's the only problem then the GC would make a nice Jeep.
