Has anyone actually broken their auto transmission lcoolant lines on intermediate trails? I just don't hear a lot of stories of this happening.

IMO the AT lines under the Wrangler are vulnerable while traversing trails. Breaking them will end your trip right away. Recommend an oil pan/trans skid plate that protects them and deletes the thin cross beam.
