Jeep problems

Having troubles with my transmission on my 2011 jeep wrangler did a flush and changed filter but I'm not sure that's gonna fix it apparently its slipping but I cant feel it what should I do next dont want to change the whole transmission I just bought the jeep a couple months ago wtf

 

What's the mileage? What do you mean "apparently it's slipping but I can't feel it"? Flush and filter change is a good first step but how was the trans fluid color, smell, consistency? Generally a single flush doesn't capture all the old fluid as a lot remains within the trans and converter. Hoping everything works out.

 

82000, yes I mean apparently its slipping and there was no metal flakes in the pan and the fluid was a little gnarly I was told had my mechanic do it he said next step if it messes up again is the solenoid hope I spelled that right lol just trying to get other people's opinions too maybe someone has gone through it befor

 

Some thoughts:

A 'flush' - some questions-
1) did you do this or a shop?
2) What fluid did you use? be specific if you can.
3) A scan may show if there are issues, you will need to use a SCANNER - try the free scans that many par stores do. did I mention FREE.

FYI: trans issues often will not turn on CEL and a scanner is needed to see them.

 

The transmission quit on my LJ at about 130k miles it didn't start slipping it just quit I think the 33's I put on was the last nail in it's coffin. I had no signs it was going out it just quit lol

 

Not sure on Jeeps but on Hondas with the flashing D symbol a basic DIY code reader shows nothing. Pro scanner showed PO700 which is a generic code that the PCM detected a malfunction in the trans control system. That required a trip to dealer to identify the exact trans malfunction which turned out to be a solenoid but ymmv.

 

SIMPLE - the CEL and p0700 - a transmission problem has requested the light on. there are transmission codes. The key on off trick and or cheap code readers may not display the codes.

All DIY'ers should get a capable scan tool - your not Dr Seuss, A carpenter needs a hammer, A plumber a wrench, A MD a financial adviser, you gotta have the right tool.
