I'm curious about getting a certificate in ASE. I seen on their website that I would need 2 years of on-the-job training or 2 years in auto repair courses in one year of on-the-job training. Technically, when they say "on the job" what are they meaning? That I would have to be hired on legally somewhere pulling parts and making repairs supervised or just two years in general of working on cars?

I would just go to school but during a child to judication court proceeding a few years back, I was ordered by a judge to quit school and comply with my individualized service plan and when I did that I withdrawled the early from classes and I owe the school $3,000 and I cannot get my transcripts to enroll into another college without paying the $3,000 to the first school first.

I would suggest contacting them for something like an apprenticeship program. I went through an apprenticeship program where I attended school one night a week for four years and worked full time. I was given a list of employers which supported the program.

That way I can get my two years of on-the-job training?
