For all you wiring and electrical connoisseurs out there, I’m wondering if, hypothetically, I could take a keyless entry module/receiver out of, let’s say, a 98 Cherokee/grand Cherokee and wire it into my TJ. If I hook up some aftermarket door lock actuators to the receiver and just send power to the receiver, would I be able to use the factory key fob to lock/unlock the doors on my TJ?
I know that buying an aftermarket power lock kit would be the simplest route. I’m just of the mindset that if I’m going to modify my car I want it to look like it was that way from the factory, or close to it. (I don’t like most aftermarket key fobs)
