    Hello there, just recently purchased a 2009 Jeep JK Sahara Unlimited. Hadn't been in a jeep since my military days. I am looking to purchase larger tires, maybe a 35" . I have read that with a tire that large I'll have to re-gear. I have also read that with an automatic regearing
    Isn't necessary. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Big tires will look real cool but will put a damper on acceleration and throttle response. The shift pattern will be affected with the auto trans. Regearing will be in your future if you bump up in tire size. Probably a great time to lockup too.

    Welcome Newby4x4. Awesome Forum with a bunch of great members.

    Just my 2 cents. I went from 225/ 16s to 305/17s. And I used a Superchip to recalibrate my computer. Throttle response is great and I'm still getting great gas mileage. Went from 20plus to 19 plus. If in the future I upgrade to 35s or bigger. Then I would definitely consider regearing. But at this point. I'm very happy with my 33s.

    Ps. My Dana's according to build order. I have 3.21s. Go figure.

    Thanks for the replys, l think I will just stick with 33"s and go with a 2" lift kit.

    Howell fuel injection, header, HEI distributor, TH350, NP208, SOA lift with YJ springs in the front & GW springs in the Rear. AMC20 with G2 1 piece chromos trussed, Dana 30 with G2 chromos and 760x ujoints and MM Stainless Hubs, Geared 4.56. Tom Woods shafts, Metal cloaks, Caged, 37" Toyo MTs.
    You should be able to run the 33s without the lift easily. The 2 inch lift will get you to 35s in the future when you feel the need to go bigger. Post some pics when your finished.
