I purchased a 2006 GC Laredo back in october, haven't had a single problem with it. Drove it last night and noticed nothing wrong, but this morning when I started it up, it wouldn't move. The engine would rev as if it was in neutral but the jeep wouldn't move until it hit about 4500 rpm. At 4500 rpm in reverse, it lurched backwards like normal and would work until it slipped below around 3000 rpm, at which point it stopped moving as if it was in park. Not sure what the issue might be, guessing my transmission? E-Brake wasn't pulled by the way.

Did you check you transmission fluid level while it is running.

Sounds like the torque converter is trashed. When that happens it the trash gets into the tranny and both need rebuilt.

HEY, I also have a 2006WK and there is a current recall for a transfer case. I highly recommend you get that done as soon as possible. there was also one for the starter. hope this helps.

Hopefully it's a tranny sensor or something simple.
