I am new to this forum so I am not sure I am posting in the correct place. Please let me know if I am not.

I am trying to replace the transmission for my 1987 YJ. I'm not a mechanic, but my understanding is that it's a 4L, 6 Cylinder. I've tried a few difference transmission shops locally and haven't had any luck finding parts or a replacement. Any guidance would be very much appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your time!
    Jeremy

1987 stock inline 6 is an AMC 4.2 liter (258 cid). 4.0 FI wasn't available in Wrangler until '91.
Peugeot BA-10 was the five-speed manual transmission. NP207 transfer case.
Parts and rebuild kits for BA-10 are available at https://www.quadratec.com/jeep-replacement-parts/jeep-transmissions/ba105.php
No shops I've heard about selling rebuilt BA-10's. Verify your engine and transmission combo and find a good tranny shop to rebuild the one you've got.
