2000 cherokee auto - manual trans swap

Hello there,

I have a 2000 cherokee sport. It came from the factory with an automatic trans and Distributorless electronic ignition. Its not my daily anymore and id like to put a manual transmission in it. ( Motor and trans are out of the vehicle currently )

I have a manual trans P/N 52108047AB i got from a salvage yard which fits XJ's from 97-99. Im not sure though, if this will work with my 4.0 liter from 2000. Can i just install a flywheel on the back of this 4.0 liter, clutch assembly, etc and have the same setup mechanically as a 99 using this transmission?

I have to get an ECU for a M / T and harness as well. P/N 56041667AD was the ECU i had in mind. I can get one programmed to work with my motor by referencing the VIN.. will work with manual trans and control electronic ignition for year 2000.. allegedly.

Also can i use the 4x4 transfer case from the auto trans?

If anyone has done something like this before and can confirm something like this will work / give any tips, I'd appreciate the feedback.
