When I parked the XJ it ran great, it sat for 3 months before I went back out to start it to use it later. I Had to jump start it and it had a "no bus" code on the cluster, but would start with the accelerator down but would die when foot was off. I ended up replacing the battery, the crank positioning sensor and the cam positioning sensor also. Still does not start. I tried using starting fluid to see if it was a fuel issue it did not work. Because of this I do not think I'm getting fire. Checked the plugin to the coil rail and I'm only getting a reading from one wire. Has anyone had this happen, any ideas?

    First let me say welcome.
Second. You said you were able to start and run it with your foot on the gas, is that still true?
If so, then you have spark and to me it sounds more like your IAC (Idle Air Control) valve. It is located in the throttle body and can be removed and carefully cleaned or replaced if needed.

    Thank You!
Unfortunately it will not start with the accelerator down or with any starting fluid.

You could pull the rail and spark plugs, make 6 ground wires with alligator clips to ground each plug, and then crank it to see if you are getting spark. See if only some work or none work.
I am not all that familiar with the coil rail set up, though I had a '00 XJ for a couple of years it never had ignition problems.

the 'no bus' is your first issue.
One of the sensors on the 5v circuit is bad and taking down circuit.
Try one by one unplugging sensors - TPS, MAP, CMP, and CKP - after each removed see if that corrected the no bus message.

Is your AIRBAG light on - IIRC a clockspring MAY affect these circuits.
    Any speedo issues to mention?
