2005 Wrangler PCM replacement

    2005 Wrangler LJ Unlimited
    I have a 2005 wrangler LJ 4.0 6cyl. CEL keeps coming on and I took it to local guy and I have a bad PCM. It’s a hardware issue not a software issue. Does anyone know if I purchase a refurb PCM online and they “marry” the new PCM to my LJ based on the VIN is it a plug and play installation? Or does a mechanic need to do anything additional to the refurb PCM after its installed?

    I saw on Wranglerfix.com a refurb for $573
