I've got a '76 CJ7 3-speed automatic with Quadra-Trac. It's got selector hubs on the front (4x2/4x4), the QT E-switch in the glove box, and the low-range selector on the floor.

I'm unfamiliar with the inner workings of each system (or any system, really), and simply want to know what the applications of each system are. I'd also appreciate it if someone could tell me whether it's unsafe to combine the settings in a certain way. Thanks!

Edit: When I said I want to know the applications of each system, I didn't mean to imply that I don't know what 4wd is for, etc. I know the purpose of the Quadra-Trac and low range, but I'm unfamiliar with how the selector hubs factor in. From what I understand, the standard setup was to have permanently locked hubs on this model, not selectors, so I'm somewhat confused as to why they're on there. Any info is much appreciated!
