I just installed a set of(6000K H4-2 Xenon HID/7x6 H6054 White LED Black Housing Projector Headlights) in my 2000 Cherokee. I can NOT see with these lights...It was suggested here on this forum to use these lights as they were great! Anyone have any idea what I may/may not have done to have this issue? I mean...they appear to be working as far as lighting...but in the rain this morning at 5am...I was blind....could not see 5 feet in front of me!

    You're saying they're too bright?

No...not bright enough! Bright to "look at"...but could not see the road. Just had them aimed..no difference.

From what I understand, to properly make HID lights work well you need projector lenses not the stock housings designed for incandescent bulbs

If these are the headlights you purchased, here is my opinion.

My guess, is that the projector inside the housing was most likely designed for a halogen bulb which in turn disperses light incorrectly for the use of an HID, thus losing functionality and projected distance.

The outer lens of the housing may have an effect, but most of the time there are no issues if the correct projector is used. Although the XJ oem headlights have lenses that are meant to disperse light for a halogen bulb and would not recommend doing a retrofit on those. The aftermarket ones don’t appear that way, but its hard to tell.

A 6000K bulb is also not going to put out as much light as a 4300K bulb or even a 5000k.

In conclusion, I would definitley say that the projector in the housing is not meant for an HID bulb.

I will be honest with you, the cheaper HID headlights you find are usually a hit or miss; some can be good and others not so good.
