Hello everyone this is my first thread so thank you for your patience,
I am curious if and where I could find more detailed information about my Jeep's car alarm. Twice now my Jeep has had the window smashed and the alarm did not go off. Does anyone here know if the alarm on the 2014 Cherokee has window or pressure sensors?
    Thanks in advance!

Did they enter the vehicle or just smash and grab?

I don't have a new KL Cherokee but reading the owner manual it doesn't mention window or pressure sensors.

"VEHICLE SECURITY ALARM — IF EQUIPPED The Vehicle Security Alarm monitors the vehicle doors for unauthorized entry and the Keyless Enter-N-Go™ Start/Stop button for unauthorized operation." (https://www.jeep.com/download/pdf/manuals/2014-Cherokee-OM-3rd.pdf)

Based on that if they didn't open the doors the alarm would not sound.

Welcome! Too bad about the jeep. Sounds like simple stupid vandalism or someone doesn't like you or where you parked. Basic OEM alarm systems are usually triggered by door entry. Might have to camp out to catch the thrill seeker(s) and show them how to finish the job.

Welcome to the forum Sierrakilo. Agree with previous posters. I did my research when I picked up my 2000 XJ 15 years ago. And have since bought a 16 JK. No window sensors with alarm systems. Sorry dude. If it happens again. I'd camp out in the back , as aggrex suggesed, with a very large bat. 34 oz, would be my suggestion. Lolll.

    Speaking of alarms...
WHAT is a good alarm for a wrangler TJ for when you have the top down and doors off!.
    Other than a gun.?

I once walked to close to this car, and it told me to, "Please step away from the car. You are too close". You should find that alarm.

Agreed an alarm with a proximity sensor would be best.

Hello sierrakilo. I have since retired from the automotive world but from what I remember no factory vehicle had motion sensors or glass breakage sensors. Offgrid mentioned one that told him to stand back from the vehicle they were viper alarms. And for goingjeep a big nasty dog works. _ LOL I would check with viper alarms. Good Luck.

A sniper would definitely work and take care of that problem.:amen:
