Ok, here's what I got; 98 Grand Cherokee 4L 6cyl. Want to put Ford Windsor 400 engine in Jeep. Why, cause 79 F-100 Ranger body to me isn't worth restoring, but engine is nice.
Y'all think that front end in Jeep can handle the weight of that engine, or am I gonna have to change it out???

Chevy 305-400 motors are only about 50lbs. heavier than the 258. I'm not sure what your 4.0 weighs, but I bet it isnt much lighter than the 258. Now you just have to figure the weight of the ford windsor compared to the chevy 350. Seems to me it would be like adding a big winch onto the front of your jeep. I think your biggest issue is going to be getting it to fit. I believe the ford Windsor is a wide motor although not as wide as the Cleveland.

Thanks everyone! I'm going to think about this one...
Need to pull a tape measure on this Grand Cherokee vs. Ol' 79 f-100. Just to see the difference in width and length of engines. BTW, just tripped 300k on this GC!

    Aside from the swap.
Wow....300k on your GC. Good example of what regular maintenance will get ya. A 300k plus Jeep vehicle.
