While driving at about 65mph, hit a pot hole and front end started a bad high speed wobble in the steering until i slowed down.

Was it violent? Did you think you were going to wreck and/or have to change your underoos?
If you have experienced these symptoms your Jeep has been infected with death wobble.

Don't fret, it is curable with over the counter medications.....err... parts.
But first we must diagnose! You lay under the front end and have someone turn the wheel back and forth while you look for things that move more than they should or that are moving when they shouldn't. Tie rods and steering components, ball joints, hub bearings, leaf spring bushings.....

Death wobble is well known to most front coil sprung Jeeps, leaf sprung Jeeps don't exhibit DW as often.
A worn steering stabilizer is not a cause or a fix for death wobble.
    Good luck.

If you are experiencing itching, enlarged gonads, burning while urinating, excretions, puss, flatulence, impotence, uncontrollable bowls, or an urge to drive a FJ or visit the mall please seek qualified medical attention immediately.

Welcome! Was the alleged DW a one-time incident? Being an '93 it might be time to start looking at suspension parts like tie rod, drag link etc

If it was a onetime incident because of a large pothole I would chalk it up to a bad pot hole, but if it happens again without a pothole it is time to replace some suspension components, and probably is time anyway it being a YJ and likely to have never had ball joints and tierods ends replaced. YJs are leaf sprung and therefore are not prone to Death Wobble. Old and bad shocks will cause this. Pay attention to any future vibrations. The tire or tires that hit a pothole at highspeeds will possibly have broken some steel belts and at first not noticeable, but over time will start to separate and you will then have a blowout. This has happened to me more than once, and I luckily caught it before they blew.

Unfortunately I am now the latest victim of the infamous death wobble. Some new steering components that were already planned should solve this. THe stock steering did its best with 37s and will be laid to Rest In Peace.
