Golden Eagle?

    265512A4-DBF5-4791-9BF3-16599DCF5E92.jpg 027E3A36-E9A6-402E-946E-810B5501B179.jpg I recently acquired a 1979 CJ7 that is in rough condition. It has a inline 6 in it. It also has a Golden Eagle decal on the hood, does not say Golden Eagle on the side fenders. Does not have the Golden Eagle rims but those could have been replaced. I have the VIN-J9F93EC8507359300 and have deciphered it but it does not tell you what model it is as far as Eagle. It is a 2 door Hard top. I can upload photos. I am just curious if this is an actual Golden Eagle or if someone just put the decal on it. Also it is a Manual transmission does anyone know what type of transfer case would be on it? Dana?

    Year is within range, good color, correct wheels.....wrong engine. From everything I can find the Golden Eagle was a V8.
    Someone swapped the engine or was trying to make a clone.

    I know this is an older post however it is incorrect/erroneous information. The I6 was/is common in the Golden Eagle package. My 1979 CJ5 Golden Eagle(which is that same color, Morocco Buff, as the one pictured here) has the I6 and to prove it came that way, here is a copy of window sticker:

    Also, in the VIN provided by the OP, the 7th character is a "C" indicating it came equipped with a 258, 2 barrel.
