    I imagine there's a fuse or relay somewhere (??).

You need to ground the purple & yellow striped wire that's in the driver kick area. That'll disable the security system.

I have a 94 GC. I looked at several threads. I had to remove the security relay to the left of the glove box to fix mine. None of the other ideas advanced worked for me.

If its like my 94, the is a relay the the left of the glove box. I removed that and it solved my problem which was I could not start my GC and keep it running . Try using google. there are also several u tubes on the subject
