A long time ago there was a retired and/or disabled veteran who made a post on here about some insulation panels that he custom makes for jeep Jk and JKU hard tops. I can't find it. Has anyone else seen it?

Well, He responded, and at 70yo and with bad shoulders he is unable to make them anymore, but for anyone in the PV area that wants a side gig to make some extra money he is willing to sell his materials he has left and tools of his trade and train you how he made them.

@OFFGRID did you find the aftermarket hardtop liners lacking for your specific needs? Most seem to make claims for noise reduction and insulation properties that haven't perked my interest yet.

I wanted to give a Vet a chance to make a living. It gets very hot here in Houston 100+ and in Moab 115*F so I really want to find a way to insulate the the top. The AC good not keep up at all to a day of wheeling. The older I get the more intolerant to the heat I get. Played an hour of basketball with my nephews today in 90* heat and I was done for the rest of the day. I will probably attempt to make some out of some form of pyromat that goes under the carpet and white headliner material.

Too bad your plans to work with the veteran didn't pan out. Perhaps the Texas sun is more intense for more hours of the day than DE but I find the HVAC system cools down the small interior space in the JK just as fast or faster than my other larger vehicles.

That's why I got the "Hot Heads" kit for my jeep. The AC system works great, but with the 110*+ temps we get out here, the insulation helps a lot.
