    2001 jeep wrangler sport red
    Hi my name is sean i have a 2001 tj with a 4 cylender and i want to change it to a inline v6 but want to know what i have to get to do it as far a the computer and tran i need new rear thats what started toy want to change it all bc i want to lift it at a later time and a friend of mine told me to just buy a recked jeep that has what i want in to and switch it but not sure if the computers will work please help

    You will need a computer programmed for the new engine. You may be able to have your existing one reprogrammed but I am unsure of that.

    Your buddy is probably right. Maybe you can find a complete motor, tranny, and wiring harness, and if your lucky the motor mounts and exhaust too oh and radiator. You might try LKQ automotive. They are a nation wide used parts dealer. They buy wrecked vehicles at auction and part them out. I bet you would come out cheaper selling yours and finding one already lifted with an Inline 6.
