Hello all I’m Lauren. We just bought a 99’ Cherokee for the family. Ready to fix it up and have it looking good and running well.

Welcome @Ldenne ...if I had the room I'd get me an XJ too! There's some active XJ builds / questions going on here. Post a pic of your new ride.

    Hello Lauren, welcome from Oklahoma.
'99 is commonly regarded as the best year for the XJ.

AAB4E00E-A735-4539-91B4-C7FEEC414058.jpg Thank you all for the welcome we are excited to fix it up. It has only 133,000 miles on it so not too bad. It’s got some rust and needs a bit of work but runs well

Nice looker XJ! Try some rust converter on those rusty areas to slow/stop the rust issue.

Welcome to the forum @Ldenne . Sharp looking XJ.
I loved my 2000 XJ. You'll love yours also I'm sure. Don't forget to post up any questions, and pics of your progress. We like Jeep Porn.

We are definitely enjoying the XJ. I am working on sanding down the rust spot spots primering them till we decide on a paint job. I’ll have to find some rust converter for the larger areas until we can fix them.
We’re is a good site to find aftermarket parts such as interior panels etc?
And are they usually hot - I can feel a lot of heat coming through the floorboard by my feet and legs when driving and on the passenger side. Thanks

Quadratec.com has been one of my go-to online venders. Check out their website and catalogs will arrive shortly. Excessive heat from the floorboards could be from the exhaust system that's leaking, bent or insulation under the carpet is missing.

nice XJ - 1999 a good year, and that 4.0L is legendary for durability and simple systems....

Get a solid dependable powertrain then do the appearance issues. But let the gang help - a wealth of knowledge here to share..
