    Hello everyone,

New to the forum, my Fiance and I have a 93 YJ, 4.0L, 5-spd. She was driving the other day and felt like she hit a pot hole or a bump. Afterward anytime you let off the gas in 2nd or 3rd you hear a very loud ticking/banging that changes with rpm. On the gas there is no sound, at least not an audible one. Clutching to shift is fine, reverse is fine. Also no ticking/banging in 1st or reverse gear, only 2nd and 3rd, but that's as far as I've shifted it out of fear of damaging something further. Sound seems like it is coming from transmission/transfer case area.

Wasn't in the jeep at the time unfortunately. My fiance said it felt like she hit a bump but I think what she felt was something letting go in the trans or transfer case maybe

That's a tough one. Would you be able to post a video with the sound?
