Generally, manufactures engineer their engines to go 250,000 miles before anything major happens. Many go over that.

I've had 2. One 1996 blew at 224,000 my current ride a 2001 ck sport broke a crank at 239,00. Regular maintenence is the key. And that 5,000 high milage oil shold still be changed every 3,000. I take excellent care of my ride. A friend threw a rod with 221,000. All of the engines were 4 liter.
