I recently had to replace the wiper motor on my 87 Cherokee. I wanted to save a little money and found one at a local u-pull-it. It came off a newer model and had the 5 wires, but some different colors. mine had a round connector, the one I found had an oval connector. so I had to do a little splicing to use the connector off the old one. Problem was the different colored wires. I tried to consult the internet, but with no solution. I was having a real problem finding any information that would show me what each color wire would do. So I eventually resorted to trial and error. I did finally get it connected right. All working:hi,lo, intermittent.
I would like to share the way it was connected for anyone else running into this problem.

    Round connector: Oval connector:
    Red - Red
    Black - Black
    White - Brown
    Blue - Green
    Gray - Blue
