Shutting off Overdrive on Highway

Does anyone turn OD off on the highway? Seems like my trans shifts in and out of OD a lot when going 65 and above. Seems hard on the trans to me. Im debating on just shutting OD off. RPMs at this speed is only about 3k. Thoughts?

 

Turning OD off if its cycles on/off a lot @65 mph at least until you find the root cause. Over-sized tires could be a factor affecting normal trans shift program or the torque ain't there to maintain speed or elevation or loads could be triggering the down shift. I'd start with standard trans maintenance first: drain & fill with correct trans fluid etc. Monitor ATF temps and consider gear changes if over-size tires are the issue.
