Been hot in the Midwest this past week and when I run the AC but NOT at full cold I get a slight smell of antifreeze. At full cold I don't. No leaks anywhere. Am I just catching a bad heater core early? Not looking forward at taking out the whole dash to fix it and not a fan of stop leak stuff.

I had this happen in a Chevy beleive it or not.
First I'm going to say. Do not under any circumstances use any type of stop leak. It may cure your issue for the time being. But..you will end up having issues bigger than you expected down the line.

Heater core?? Could be. Honestly. The only issue I've had with heater core. Yeah...it did blow. But I only had a smell of anti freeze just before it blew. Also had the same issue when a freeze out plug blew. Again..on a Chevy.

Just my experiences with similar issues. Hopeing to spark a members fix to maybe help here.
