Blower motor speeds quit working, ended up being part of the mode control switch. Doesn't appear to be available except as used so I bypassed it and used a switch and relay to send power to the speed switch and blower motor resistor.
Also found out I had some water intermix in the front differential due to a gash in the vent hose so ran new vent hoses for the front axle and tcase, cleaned the diff, and filled her back up.

Think it would help to use some 1/2" wire protective wire wrap on those hoses to prevent scrapes?

No, with the extra suspension travel I have now the front pinion (driveshaft not currently installed) grabbed the breather hose and pulled it down and proceeded to chew on it. I saw it hanging (a while back) and secured it back up but apparently I didn't see where the pinion had chewed on it.
Using "reinforced" fuel line now.. but I have it zip tied up and over to the control arm and then up the firewall.

Installed an extended idle on the silver 2000 XJ. This is similar to the extended idle found on XJ's with the police package. All you have to do is pry off #1 plastic cover on the ECM(driver side near air cleaner box) there are 3 plastic covers. The one closest to the headlight is the correct one. Towards the front of the vehicle, the first wire in row #2(solid gray wire) is the wire you want to splice into. Run a wire from it through the firewall and I mounted a toggle switch on the plastic housing that is about a foot from the gas pedal. On the other side of the toggle switch, run a wire to a good ground. You now have an extended idle if you need it. It will take the idle to about 100RPM should the need arise. Here's a pic of my jeeps.

Replaced the rear upper control arm in the wifes liberty yesterday. Then the rf cv shaft, axle seal and bushing, rf hub bearing, front calipers, rotors and pads. Ugh.. not pleased on how much work is involved just to replace the cv shaft

I changed all fluids for my 2019 Cherokee 3.2L on this page:

    https://www.searchforparts.com/oil-change/jeep-2019-cherokee-3.2l-x-ehk

from the oil to the transmission fluid to the coolant! The previous owner, who I know, ran it into the ground for a year or so without changing a thing so it feels good and the fluids are synthetic.

next will probably get some new wheels and a new radio with navigation built in.

My '98 XJ was rusting away a year or two after I needed to have the 4.0 rebuilt, so in 2015, I sold it and went to a JKU. But the one best XJ mod that I ever did was putting some Liberty disc brakes on it. Basically four bolts and change the hard brake line from Imperial to Metric. The proportioning valve didn't need to be changed - tracked straight under heavy braking - even in snow pack.

I referred to a book by Eric Jaffe, "High Performance Jeep Cherokee XJ Builder's Guide" which gave well-documented step-by-step instructions. (Also a lot of other XJ tips.)

From a '07 Liberty, I picked the Caliper assemblies, Rotors, and the Mounting/Backing plates. This required pulling the axle shafts.

Since it was there (and newer), I also took the hard brake line which runs over the axle & differential housing. It's dimensionally identical to the original, but after hours of trial and error, I deduced that the '98 parts have Imperial threads; the Liberty, Metric. So you'd need an adaptor to connect to the hard line to where it runs forward towards the master cylinder. Otherwise, you'd need adaptors at the two caliper connections.

I started collecting parts on Saturday morning, and if not for the Metric/Imperial issue, I would have been finished that afternoon or evening.

Three of my XJ's have had the 2" budget boost installed. MY two 01 models have had the Viper coil mod done on them(no coil rail). All of my jeeps have stainless exhaust. Three of them have my diy driving lights.(these are you standard NAPA 35 watt tractor light with rubber housing modified. You remove the 35 watt sealed beam and replace with a Wagner(#4509) 100 watt seal beam aircraft landing light. These last better than the cheap china chrome models. Also little other things here and there.
