Hello all. I'm new to forums and blogs and the rest. I'm retired and needed a project. Kinda looking, and found a 80 CJ5 with a 258- overall looks pretty stock. Never had a Jeep but I thought it would be fun. Ran good for 164k miles. Brought it home and a few days radiator started leaking so tore into it. Now replacing radiator, water pump, TSAT and housing, some hoses and belts. Not ready to get totally immersed in an engine overhaul but did pull the timing chain cover and checked the chain. About 9/16" slack. So I am sure later I will be getting deeper into all the rest. But for now I need to get it running and on a dirt trail so I can get a baseline. We will be talking later
    Much appreciated

Correction, about 9/32" slack in the timing chain
