I have a 2011 wrangler, her zippers are all wonky, the back window one side I can't get unzipped past the top corner. the other side is just fubar.. zipper split right at the beginning for about 3-5 inches up. then splits again towards the corner, any ideas on how to get my girl back together??

Finally, a thread Bob might be able to help with. He's one of those Taco owners. But we don't judge. Lol.
My thoughts exactly. But I wasn't going to go there in fear of reticule. Not saying I've had this issue. :spy: or not. But I sure as hell wasn't going to be the first. So thanks Bob. Your a stand up guy. So in your opinion. What works best....water...a little vasoline... WD40? What worked best for you? Any pics?? OMG. Now that I think about it. ...Never mind..

Some zipper issues just require patience, lube, a bit of luck and maybe a few hands to hold opposing sides of the material and another hand to work the zipper link by link either up or down to clear an obstruction. Soap or wax are good lube choices.

For the past several decades, I've been involved with MGs, owned a high of eight at one time, and they all except one, had tonneau covers with zippers. I found that a can of spray silicone worked very well for keeping zippers working like new. Spray silicone is available at most auto parts stores and is cheap. A little dab will do ya.

    Cheers - Jeepjoc

Well...thanks to jeep Joc. We're back on thread. But seriously dude. " A little dab will do ya". She has an issue with her zipper. Not her hair. And if you've every seen " There's Something About Mary". That's not necessarily true.. That's a little dab that.....Ummm. well. We're back on thread.

Pics help. But......of your zippers Jeeper Girl. o_O

I have found if you get a small wire brush ,like the size of a tooth brush and clean off crud from the zippers around the stuck part helps.....inside where it is stuck is probably corroded..couple pairs of needle nose plyers and and a nice size zip tie threw the end of zipper handle helps with leverage....

Just looking for more info. Drd88, Dan. Just curious. Did a little dab do you?
I'm sure the needle nose pillars helped. Just want to confirm what lubricant you used. Do you use it often? No scaling or shafing?

I fixed mine by cutting the old zipper off and just using the passanger side zipper for both sides. Now to just get the driver side a new zipper. Unless i buy a new top cause my fading.

I usually use wd40 or something kind of penetration oil ie. Liquid wrench...just be careful if it runs...spray silicone after also...it's all about removal of crud and corrosion
